![]() ![]() The main character, Eliza, is one of the most relatable characters (to me) I have ever read. I didn't think I would like this book, but I did. This book surprised me, as you can tell by the title of my review. I read this book on my e-reader but I may have to go and buy it now. Surprisingly, there was no alcohol or drugs!! That's a first! It had everything a good book should: romance, relatable characters, struggles. They try to fix it, but the book doesn't write it off as some little thing. Unlike many other books, they aren't cliché. Great messages about internet safety and friendship. In a TV show, they do mention sex in a humorous way. There is one scene where the parents are talking about the first time they did it, and another where the mom tells Eliza that she's taking her to a doctors appointment 'to check'. ![]() My rule of thumb is to never read a book with the main character more than 5 years older than I am, and Eliza is 18. No more than you wouldn't be exposed to as a teenager, though. I would recommend this book for ages 13 and up due to swearing. I love the way the author wrote about her and her struggles. The main character, Eliza, was so relatable. ![]()
